Our Cinema's History
This venture initiated by the North Creake Village Hall Committee in connection with Creative Arts East & Village Screen was started early in 2009 to create a community cinema in North Creake for our own and other local villagers.
Following projectionist training we learnt how to erect and dismantle all the equipment which at that stage had to be hired from Creative Arts East. Our first screening on a free trial basis was " Mamma Mia" and our audience found it to be a success.
Monthly screenings followed showing " The Duchess" , "Easy Virtue" & "Slumdog Millionaire", the latter filling our seating capacity of 90 film fans
Following our success we applied for grant funding and in March 2009 the Norfolk Community Foundation gave us a grant to enable us to purchase our own permanent equipment including a 4 x 3 metre screen and digital projector. This reduces set up times and gives us excellent quality and sound. THE EDP Newspaper attended our "Slumdog Millionaire" film night and on May 14th an article and photograph appeared in the press.
Due to popular demand we are now playing to full houses. Further screenings of current films will continue to be shown on the 3rd Tuesday of the month with a few extra classic or foreign films to be shown on specific dates
Tickets are £5.00 each and are available (in advance only) by calling 01328 738959 Performances start at 7.30pm in North Creake Village Hall. The admission price includes a complimentary drink with the Bar opening at 7.00pm
